McKinsey & Company

Since 2004, Matt has been an external consultant to McKinsey & Company.

Advising an Anglo-German team, Matt oversaw the yearlong development and delivery of the inaugural McKinsey European Music Festival at the AlpineUniversity in Kitzbühel, Austria in 2006.

It’s success established it as annual event with a global reach.  Matt and the Creative Imperative team are working on the eleventh festival for 2016.

 

Matthew Andrews

Arts Consultant

Before his return to performing, Matt was an award-winning arts consultant. 

Managing more than sixty major projects in education, broadcasting and the performing arts, he worked with the BBC, Creative Partnerships, PAL, Danish Business Council and McKinsey & Company, and in 2003 received an award from the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts for his project with the University of Liverpool and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

Matt’s company Creative Imperative continue to manage and develop select client projects, including the international music festivals for McKinsey & Company

Previous Work

Matthew Andrews gained corporate experience over a two-year period at law firm Linklaters on financial and legal projects.

Matt returned to the arts and broadcasting sectors as assistant to the Director of PAL (Performing Arts Labs), to aid development of a four-year business plan and successful £1million NESTA bid. 

This resulted in his appointment as Project Manager (2000-03) and Development Director (2002-03), working on the annual programmes for Opera, Dance and Playwrights Labs, Labs of Learning, the Sony-sponsored Screenwriters’ Labs, the EU Multimedia Labs, and commissioned projects for Channel 4/Film Four, the BBC and the Danish Business Council.

In 2003 Matt left PAL to become a freelance arts consultant and return to performing.

Creative Partnerships

In 2006 Matt was a consultant on the pARTners programme for Creative Partnerships.  He was subsequently appointed as Producer and ‘Creative Agent’ of 15 projects for
CP Haven Gateway (an Arts Council England initiative).


SoundProof Projects

Matt was founding Director of SoundProof Projects (SPP).

The recipient of a NESTA Award in 2004, Matt set up SPP to develop and deliver interdisciplinary learning experiences between science and the arts. 

To date, SPP has created and managed more than a dozen national events and regional programmes for a variety of clients.
